For the current version of OpenShot (1.4.3) on openSUSE, you will also need to install libmlt6-data-*, and libmlt6-modules-* to fix the missing video codecs. It may not hurt to install Blender and Melt while you are at it. Technically, OpenShot-Qt is the latest version, but you will need to find python3-openshot for it to work, which makes me think that most RPM’s for it are alien conversions from .deb.
