KDESVN : Subversion Client with Dolphin (KDE 4.x) Context Menu

October 22, 2012

When using LinuxMint, My favorite Subversion client is RabbitVCS. RabbitVCS has Nautilus/Caja File Manager addon to display RabbitVCS context menu. It’s context menu simplifies and make it easier to update my data on the Subversion repository, especially for shared working directory among our teamwork in PT. Excellent Infotama Kreasindo. Unfortunately, I’m currently using openSUSE 12.2 with KDE desktop environment and RabbitVCS was not well integrated with the Dolphin file manager/KDE 4.8.5.

After looking at various forums regarding “How to make RabbitVCS to be integrated with Dolphin File Manager”, it turns out my problem has very simple solution.  Simply installing KDESVN and then, subversion menu such as commit and update automatically appeared on Dolphin  context menu.

To install KDESVN on openSUSE, please go to the following link :http://software.opensuse.org/package/kdesvn

Once installed, KDESVN can be run through the menu (by opening KDESVN directly on start up menu) or you can also right-click to access directly through the Dolphin file manager context menu.
